Question: Why did it take so long to observe the top quark after observing the other five?

    To be honest I can’t remember the exact reason but it is much heavier than the other five and decays really quickly… so first you need a much higher energy collision to produce it (so a bigger accelerator) and secondly it’s very hard to observe because it is so short lived!
