Yes, in a manner of speaking.

In time, the Universe has been around for almost 14 billion years and the Earth for about 5. Humans have been around for just 200,000 years, so comparatively tiny!!

In space it’s even more mind-blowing, there are billions of stars in billions of galaxies out there and we are just one planet orbiting one fairly mediocre star. It really puts your day-to-day problems in perspective, doesn’t it?

I’d save even less – a grain of sand in the Sahara desert is probably even not small enough! The Universe, or what we can see it, extends incredible distances, hundreds of millions of light years in all directions…we are not even a blink of an eye in the age of the universe either!

Yes the universe is huge look for astronomy pictures of ‘the Void’ this shows groups of clusters of galaxys the distances involved are massive

I’m afraid so. We have existed on this planet for a minuscule fraction of time, compared with the billions of years the Earth has existed. Our lives are fantastically small and totally tiny on an astronomical scale.

But in your teeny, tiny fraction of spacetime, you are able to try and comprehend the Universe thanks to the fact that you have consciousness and self-awareness. You can love and give and experience all sorts of things. Given that your life is so special, it really makes you want to try and make the most of it. I think so anyway 🙂
