We don’t know for sure but we think so far there are about 200 billion galaxies in the universe, which is insane if you remember that each galaxy has billions of stars in it, each star just like our Sun! Makes me feel pretty small πŸ˜€

As far as I know, billions! Perhaps someone else knows more precisely?

Put it simply, we have no idea! Countless, countless numbers! The Hubble space telescope takes a lot of pictures of deep space, and the estimates are that there are somewhere between 100-500 billion in the visable universe. When you think how big our own galaxy is…wow!

There are likely to be hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe – but it’s hard to know really. Just remember that there are many stars in most galaxies as there are galaxies in the universe. Amazing!

I have stopped checking how many as they are always finding more.
