• Question: What do you prefer, Loop Quantum Gravity or 'String' Theory?

      Can I sit on the fence until there is some experimental evidence one way or the other??

      OK, if you’re going to twist my arm, I have a bit of a soft spot for higher dimensions (they are so neat and mind-warping!)… and I really like the idea that at some really high energy scale, all the different forces that we experience (gravity, electromagnetic, weak & strong forces) are the same thing. So… I guess that means I prefer string theory!

      But… I reserve the right to change my mind! 😉

    Thank you for not evading it by leaving it at the first line! Interesting thing about the high energy scale.. never thought about it that way… thanks for answering.

      I’m going to have to agree with Suzie – trying to picture all eleven proposed dimensions is really hard (in fact I don’t think I can even name them). I think if you asked a lot of scientists if they wish for anything in science it would be the answer to the Grand Unified Theory…but I guess if we knew it then there wouldn’t be many jobs in theoretical science in the future!
