      Good question! Space isn’t actually completely empty, it’s just not very dense at all! Space is filled with lots of atoms and molecules (mostly hydrogen and helium), but spread out over vast distances, making space a vacuum. Most of space is very cold – close to absolute zero (or about -273 degrees celsius), which is pretty inhospitable to life.
