• Question: What is your favourite planet?

      I think its Jupiter. Its the first one I saw through a telescope. You can see some of its Moons. Jupiter is huge and even has a small effect on our tides. Venus is cool too though – so bright it can cast shadows at night and it shows phases through a telescope, like the Moon.

      I think my current favourite is an exoplanet (a planet that orbits a different star to ours in another solar system) discovered last year called Wasp 12b, that is made of carbon…sounds boring, but this planet is so close to it’s star, that it’s temperature is so hot that we think the whole surface must melt to have formed diamonds! Can you imagine walking on a planet where the valleys and mountains are all made of huge diamonds? Might be a little bit hot though! What’s yours?

      My favourite planet is Saturn, because of its beautiful rings!
