good one there is no centre. Think about making bread with rasins in it. You start with flour and make a dough add the rasins. Before it goes in the oven the rasins are close but when in the oven the bread rises and the rasins all move apart from each other expanding in all directions. The dough is the singlarity at the big bang the rising loaf is space time expanding.

The centre of the universe is me. Right here. This very point where I’m sitting. The whole universe is expanding away from ME!

Actually, it’s expanding away from you too. Every point is expanding away from every other point – think of it like points on the surface of a balloon when you blow it up. (Try it if you don’t believe me).

So yes. I’m the centre. Any more questions?

Good question! If we believe the current models of cosmology – the study of the evolution of our universe – there isn’t one! The big bang was an explosion, not in space and time, but OF space and time!

Great question, as it is still puzzling scientists today. It is a bit head screwy too because the answer is….there isnt one! Imagine the universe to be like the surface of an inflating balloon. Where is the centre of the surface of the balloon? 🙂

There is no centre of the Universe. The Universe is most likely infinite, which means there is no edge and no middle – just more Universe. Where is the centre of the surface of the Earth?
