• Question: Would you consider yourself an astronomer or a physicist? Your research seems to be based on physics, yet you're in the Space Zone and seem to know quite a lot about astronomy!

Hi Freddie, I’m definitely a physicist! I had a telescope and did the astronomy and astrophysics courses when I was at uni, so I’ve done a bit of astronomy. I’ve also worked at a science museum with a planetarium, so I learned a bit more there too…

But yep, definitely a physicist! I did query as to whether I should be in the ‘space zone’ or not, but as the LHC lets us find out more about the ‘Universe’ we decided that it would give a bit of a cosmological or particle physics viewpoint on space.
